Who we are

mutual. ("we", "us") is a matchmaking platform connecting social-media creators with businesses for collaborations, operated from Malta and available at trymutual.app. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights. Contact: emanportelli23@gmail.com.

What we collect

Account data: email, password (hashed by our authentication provider), your role (creator or business), display name, handle, bio and photos you upload.

Profile data: categories or industry, social platform handles and follower counts you enter, rate or budget ranges, and your offers.

Location: your country, and — only if you grant permission — your device's GPS position, used solely to show you nearby matches. We never display your exact location to other users.

Activity: swipes, matches, messages, icebreaker answers, deals and reviews created in the app.

Payments: subscription and deal payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store full card numbers. We store payment references, amounts, fees and VAT breakdowns for invoicing.

How we use it

To run the service: matching you with nearby profiles, powering chat and deals, enforcing plan limits, and holding secured payments until content is approved.

To bill you: processing subscriptions and deal payments, issuing VAT invoices, and complying with Maltese tax law.

To keep the platform safe: verifying profiles, preventing fraud and abuse, and enforcing our terms.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not show you third-party advertising.

Sharing

Other users see the profile you build (subject to your plan's visibility rules and matching). Service providers we rely on: Supabase (database & authentication, EU region), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments). Each processes data under their own compliance programmes (GDPR, PCI-DSS where applicable).

Your rights (GDPR)

You can access, correct, export or delete your data at any time. Deleting your account removes your profile, photos, matches and messages. Payment and invoice records are retained as required by Maltese law (currently 6 years for tax records). To exercise any right, email emanportelli23@gmail.com.

Retention & security

Data lives on EU servers. Access is protected by row-level security and encrypted transport. We keep data only as long as your account exists, except where the law requires longer retention of financial records.
